30/52 2014

Yet another crazy week. I helped out with some gymnastic classes on Wednesday, and the little ladies were so giggly and funny. I read another book and watched some episodes of the Amazing Race. I'm watching season eight (the family edition), which is my favorite. It first aired when I was in 7th grade, and I loved Rolly! (: It was another busy weekend at work, and then on Monday I ran errands and painted my nails.

Wednesday 23 July // day two hundred four :: NatureBox day! {find out what was inside here}

Thursday 24 July // day two hundred five :: camp books for the week. this week was all about art. The Day the Crayons Quit and The Dot were my two favorite books we read this week.
{also pictured: Not a Box, I am an Artist, Little Blue and Little Yellow, Beautiful Oops!, and Mouse Paint}

Friday 25 July // day two hundred six :: this postcard came in the latest Boden catalog. I still don't know what to do with it, but it's too cute to throw away.

Saturday 26 July // day two hundred seven :: reading in the comfiest place before work.

Sunday 27 July // day two hundred eight :: lunchtime.

Monday 28 July // day two hundred nine :: Target. I brought my camera to take some pictures of the skatepark progress, but I didn't take any pictures there because it just looked like some piles of dirt and some guys working. it's kind of funny now that I took a picture at Target, because I actually ended up there twice.

Tuesday 29 July // day two hundred ten :: essie's fear or desire - a nice traffic cone orange.

NatureBox :: July 2014

This month's NatureBox was literally handed to me from the mailman himself, while he was sitting in the mail truck, because I just happened to be walking by, and I guess he knows who I am. I don't really know how to introduce this, so let's just jump right in.

Please note, I am not very good at food photography, and a lot of these things were really hard to get an attractive picture of.

There was a cute little pamphlet inside about packing lunches.

Carrot Strawberry Fruit Chews :: these don't have a very distinct carrot or strawberry flavor to me. they taste kind of grape-like, but not really. I guess that most fruit snacks probably don't have a distinct flavor. these aren't dry at all like most other fruit snacks.

Cinnamon Swirl Kettle Kernels :: these are nice and sweet, but I wish that the cinnamon sugar would stick to them better so they could have more of that flavor for longer, instead of just at first.

Dark Cocoa Nom Noms :: these taste identical to a brownie. seriously, they are so good. the texture is different though because of the oats, so they're more like a crunchy brownie. wait. that doesn't really sound right, because they're very soft, but their texture isn't smooth. maybe that's how to describe it.

Southern BBQ Sunflower Kernels :: these have the perfect bbq kick without being too spicy. I love a sweet bbq sauce, and this is the perfect flavor.

Baked Cheddar Potato Fries :: like the peppery ones that I tried before, these have a little kick to them, but it's not too much. these also have a little bit of a cheese flavor to them, but it's really not a lot in my opinion.

cherries & hay bales

on Monday afternoon, I just decided to go for a drive on the back roads up north a little bit. first I had to go to the gas station, because Luna was almost on empty {fine. almost on 1/8th of a tank.}, and on my way I passed a small cherry orchard with a field across the street. in that field, there were rectangular hay bales. now, I know that there are rectangular hay bales, but I'm used to seeing the big circular ones, so I thought that that was kind of strange. by the time I returned two hours later, they were gone so I couldn't take a picture.

the first three pictures are from some cherry orchard. I think it's Choice Orchards, but I'm not sure because there were no signs at all, just rows and rows of trees. {the sky is a little blown out on the first two because I forgot to change the ISO. I'm still getting used to shooting in manual.} while I was driving around, I had to go by Chateau Hutter of course, and there are more boarded up windows on the house {?} than last time, which is a little concerning. and then a picture of some rounded hay bales. (:

Monday 21 July // day two hundred two :: in the afternoon, I decided to just take a drive up north a little bit to take some pictures. I was just driving around on some back roads, and I stopped a couple times to take pictures. here are some cherry trees!

I started typing and this is what happened.

I have no idea where this post is going to end up, but here is a picture of some purple flowers. Sometimes I think of things that I could write about, and then I sit down in front of a blank post and my mind goes blank and I just keep typing about nothing. Like right now, for example.

Maybe I should just turn this into a post where I write some random facts about me. Except one of my high school math teachers (he taught Algebra II and Probability & Statistics) said that humans cannot do random.

Moving on.

I usually have no plans on Wednesdays, and sometimes I stay in my apartment all day and I don't do anything too productive. For example today (which is technically now yesterday, because I published this on Thursday - and now I'm writing in weird tenses and this is like being inside my head), I didn't do my hair or makeup (but I'm wearing real clothes!) and I just watched Celebrity Wife Swap and Cupcake Wars and read a book and did some journaling. I was going to go for a walk, but then I was like, "Nahhhh. I'll do some laundry and schedule some appointments instead."

I just did a search for MySpace surveys so that I can answer some questions or whatever instead of writing about nothing at all. I never actually had a MySpace...

Here goes...

1. I love... my jobs even though sometimes I don't show it. I love working with the kids and all of the amazing people that I have become connected with through the motel. (This prompt made me think of a quote from Children's Liturgy of the Word this week: "I love love. My daddy throws me up in the air and says, 'Woo hoo!' and then I fall in his lap."

2. Right now I want... to brush my teeth. I'll be right back.

3. I feel like... sometimes everything is my responsibility when it isn't. I also feel like sometimes I am more negative than necessary.

4. I hate it when... things aren't clean.

5. I fear... that life is too short, not just for me but for everyone.

6. I'm lonely without... music.

7. I need... a new catalytic converter for Luna and to schedule some appointments for birthday prep.

8. Today I... watched Cupcake Wars and they put seafood in cupcakes and it was gross.

9. Tomorrow I'm... going to work with the kids and at the motel. You really never know what's going to happen at either place.

10. I just... want a hug.

11. I want to meet... the Osbournes.

12. I'm hungry for... bbq pulled pork, which I have been craving since Kelsey and I went to Olive Garden for lunch last Monday and only ate carbs (and cheese).

13. I love it when... someone stops by the motel to say hi to me.
14. I'm afraid of... raw meat and insects.

15. I'm listening to... James Hall and Liv Mueller. The song is called "One Last Drink of You."

16. I'm wearing... American Eagle jeans (as always), a v-neck tee, and a USC hoodie.

17. I wish I was in... I'm drawing a blank on this one because I don't really have an answer.

18. I'm craving... cupcakes. There's a box of cupcake mix in my kitchen, but I'm saving that for my birthday.

19. I want to get... more clothes. But nothing ever looks like something I would wear.

20. I can... fold a fitted sheet correctly.

21. I can't... do a cartwheel.

22. I have... spent too much money at Target in my life.

23. I haven't... been outside of North America.

24. I'm nervous to... move away from Door County.

25. My Mom thinks I'm...  I should move to a big city so she can come and visit me.

26. My Dad thinks I'm... I don't even know what to say to this one. I just really don't know.

28. I'm happy when...

29. I'm sad when... everyone sees rainbows and posts pictures on Facebook and Instagram, but I didn't get to see the rainbows. (It was actually a double rainbow, and it was pretty big.)

30. I like eating... ice cream, cupcakes, pizza, pasta, and cereal. But lest you think all I eat is junk food, I do like fresh fruit and yogurt and smoothies with spinach.

31. I hate eating... most vegetables. Like broccoli and squash and beans and such. Yuck.

32. I love watching... trashy tv, such as the Teen Mom/16 & Pregnant shows, the Hills, Celebrity Wife Swap...

33. I love listening to... music. All the time.

34. I like playing... When I was younger, I had a GameBoy Color with the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game, and I would play that a lot. Except the game was kind of broken and wouldn't save, so I never made it to the end.

35. I hate waking up to... people talking outside... Thanks, moving company on Tuesday.

36. I can see... clearly now, the rain is gone. Just kidding. (: I'm in the dining room and I can see a mess on the table (where I am sitting), into the pantry, and a photograph on the wall.

37. I'm glad that... things are going the way they are. Sometimes life throws you a curveball (is that the right saying?), but I believe that everything will work out in the end exactly how it was supposed to be, because it's not over until it's over.

38. I'm disappointed that... I turned down some opportunities that could have been beautiful, but there's always an opportunity for more beauty to come along.

39. I look like... myself?

40. I wish I looked like... Sometimes I wish I looked like Geri X. Okay, maybe not look like her (because that would be a little creepy), but I do sometimes wish that I could pull of colored hair or full sleeves tattoos.

xoxo.

28/52 2014

this is later than usual because I totally forgot to have the pictures downloaded to my computer, let alone edited or in the post...

Wednesday 9 July // day one hundred ninety :: I feel as though this deserves a kind of lengthy explanation. Yes, this picture was taken exactly one month before my 21st birthday. I received this for my college graduation {in December} and the glasses were my great-grandfather's. I got sick of looking at that bottle in the fridge, so I figured that I would try it, but of course I would need to take pictures to document this. I really only had a tiny sip and I didn't like it, so I dumped it out. Growing up Catholic and taking Eucharist at Mass, I could already tell you that I don't like wine. I've spent plenty of time around alcohol in my life and I don't really understand why people like it {I'm sorry, but it smells gross} or what it does to them. I think we all know that I'll be having a sober birthday! (: To each his own, I guess.

Thursday 10 July // day one hundred ninety-one :: tiny red heels. they're actually a phone stand, and it was a gift from my manager (:

Friday 11 July // day one hundred ninety-two :: from the August 2014 issue of Glamour (an article entitled "12 Times New Clothes are the Answer") - I do have quite a bit of color in my closet, but there are many, many black items in there... (:

Saturday 12 July // day one hundred ninety-three :: this is my favorite lotion! (I get it at World Market)

Sunday 13 July // day one hundred ninety-four :: trying to finish a book by doing some reading before work so that I could return it to the library the next morning.

Monday 14 July // day one hundred ninety-five :: clouds. I really like clouds. this was one of those days where I took a few other pictures, but I liked this one the best for the day.

Tuesday 15 July // day one hundred ninety-six :: if I'm running late on taking a picture for the day and about to leave for work, I just take a picture of the view from my balcony...

What's in My Purse? {with the Circle}

linking up with Kiki & Meg a day late for the Circle!

It's been about a year since I last did one of these posts, I think. I actually keep my purse pretty clean and organized, so there was only one thing that I took out and didn't put in the pictures. It was a gum wrapper. haha.

So here's everything! That green blob in the back is reusable shopping bag, and the black blob next to it is a pair of fingerless gloves that I wear once in a while at work when I'm doing a lot of work on the computer and my hands are cold. I have a lot of keys!

Here's a close up of some of the random little things: a lot of keys, a flashlight, my nametag for the Y, some lotion and chapstick...

This is all in the middle part of my purse, between the larger compartments. The scissors are for clipping coupons at the grocery store, and along with all of those writing utensils and lip stuff and hand sanitizer go in my Brush & Pencil {Paisley Meets Plaid}. My planner is from May Books, and then there's a little notebook too.

This little pouch in Island Blooms is from the Cosmetic Trio, and I use it to hold some hair ties, gum, a compact {from Forever 21}, and some bandaids. If you've read this post, you would know that they are Disney Princess! (:

And finally, my wallet with cash, another bandaid {Candy Land}, coupons, credit cards, and some coupons. Nothing too exciting! The Clip Zip ID in Java Blue in the picture with all of the contents holds some other loyalty cards.

The most used thing in my purse is definitely my Burt's Bees Pear Coconut lip balm. What's the most used item in your purse? What about the weirdest thing in there?

xoxo.
