February 2014 Nature Box!!

Oh my gosh, I am so excited about everything in my Nature Box this month! I love everything in this box. I just wish that there were more of each of the snacks!

First look! I got a bonus snack this month!

Baked Peppery Potato Fries - these are the perfect potato-y snack with a little bit of a kick.

Cherry Ganache Granola - this was a bonus snack! I received this in my first Nature Box, and you can read about it here.

Cherry Crumble Granola - this is the best granola I have ever had. being from Door County, I am pretty particular about my cherries, and the ones in here are soooo good. this is a moist granola and it is delicious.

Whole Wheat Blueberry Figgy Bars - like last month's raspberry figgy bars, these are delicious. I just wish that there were more than five in the package!

Antioxidant Boost - I love trail mixes, and this one is simple with nuts, dried fruits, and dark chocolate. it's all delicious, and the chocolate is way better than I expected.

Tart & Tangy Fruit Medley - while I love everything in the box, this is probably my favorite. another simple one, this is just dried cranberries and dried apples. perfect.

I am so in love with all of my snacks this month. If I hadn't already picked out next month's snacks, I probably wouldn't change them!

8/52 2014

all in all, this was a good week. here are some little moments from this week. there's even a rare black and white photo this week!

Wednesday 19 February // day fifty :: one of my favorite treats is this microwave mug cookie from Number 2 Pencil. I omit the salt, and this time I used dark chocolate mint chocolate chips. yum. and of course I used my favorite giant mug.

Thursday 20 February // day fifty-one :: two mug pictures in a row. this is Land O Lakes' Cocoa Classics in S'mores and it is amazingly delicious. it smells and tastes just like a s'mores.

Friday 21 February // day fifty-two :: technically, this pictures is from early Saturday morning, and I do have some pictures from a show/party that I attended. I just liked this picture best.

Saturday 22 February // day fifty-three :: nails. I am glad I was able to get a picture before this hand started to chip! Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure in Jaded {three or four coats; from Influenster} with L'Oreal's Pop the Bubbles {one coat; accent nail}

Sunday 23 February // day fifty-four :: note from my sister

Monday 24 February // day fifty-five :: I bought stamps. I needed the postcard ones, but I didn't need the Harry Potter ones. oops. thanks for the heads up, Tiffany! (:

Tuesday 25 February // day fifty-six :: Max really likes boxes.

J'Adore VoxBox

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Influenster loves me, and I love them, but this box I did not love. I received this the day after Valentine's Day, and the theme of the box seems to be date night.

Obviously I love the giant bag of Hershey's Kisses. To me, this seemed kind of boring though. When I think about testing products for a company (which is what Influenster is all about), I think of testing new or different products, not ones that have been around forever. The chocolate is good, but I would have preferred something a little more out of the ordinary.

I received two different flavors of Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas - one lemon chiffon and three créme caramel. Tea smells so good, but I have never been able to make it and have it taste like anything other than dirty water. I'm sorry, but that isn't something that I like. I did try both of these teas, and they smelled good, but I didn't like how they tasted.

The Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask was the first mask that I have ever used. It felt really weird to have it drying on my face! My skin felt smooth but dry after I took it off, and it was kind of hard to get the mask off my face. They suggest using tissues to take it off, but that did not work for me.

Another thing that I have never used before is fake eyelashes. I don't really wear a whole lot of makeup, just mascara and lip gloss. I'm interested in trying these KISS Looks So Natural Lashes, but I really have nowhere to wear them, and it seems pretty silly to wear these on just an average day.

I don't even own a flat iron, so I have no use for the John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this VoxBox and I hope that next time I will get some things that I can actually use!

It's Official.

I have a problem. I have too much stuff. I have three giant bags of stuff that I am taking to Goodwill today. Clothes, stationery, trinkets, etc. I donated a bag of books to the library. I've been throwing things out left and right, including about a dozen lip glosses and a handful of old receipts.

It's funny, when you start to get ready to move {nothing official yet}, you realize how much stuff you really have. I would say "how many things," but honestly, a lot of it just seems like "stuff."

While I've been able to remove some of these things from my life, there are things that I cannot get rid of.

My Vera Bradley collection is now so large that it can't even fit in one picture. You can't even tell what half of the things in that top picture are, all you can see are colors. I would say that about half of these items were gifts or purchased with gift cards. A couple years ago I was really into Vera Bradley. I still like all of the bright colors, but it's a little too flashy for me now. A lot of these pieces are really special to me because of where I used them. It's kind of weird to look at this picture and think that a purse is so special to me, but I digress.

I've actually started selling some of this on eBay, and I think those two pencil boxes {Poppy Fields and Very Berry Paisley - both unused} are next to be listed.

There are fifty-seven lip balms in this picture. All but three of them are Lip Smackers, which I still buy when I find them on clearance at Target. I am a total twelve year old, but I love the flavors. My favorite ones would have to be the chocolate mint and vanilla ones. Some of these are actually the same flavor in different packaging. And I actually have a few more in the top drawer of my desk and my purse.

Most of these mini hand sanitizers are barely used. That's about to change, because I just put one in my purse, and I'm going to keep going through them until they're gone. I have a ton of half-used lotions that I've been making more of a point to use as well. It's kind of sad, but kind of funny that I still buy this stuff when I already have so much of it.

I also have a shelf full of blank notecards {mostly thank you cards} because I love to buy pretty stationery. Target carries a line called Green Room which I really like, and I have found some nice Graphique cards at TJ Maxx. I also do not need any more nail polish! I bought a mini set of four OPI and two regular size bottles of essie when I was at TJ Maxx a month ago, and then my manager gifted me a bottle, and then Influenster sent me three more bottles. They literally don't even fit on the shelf anymore.

In addition to these store-bought possessions that I hold on to, I also have a box full of cards that I've been sent the past few years, mostly birthday cards, but also Christmas cards, graduation cards, and other personal notes. I really love mail. Many years ago, I received a trapperkeeper for my birthday {must have been about ten/eleven years ago now; I think I was in fifth grade?}, and it is now filled with some random artifacts like stickers and little notes and tiny snippets of my life. Plus there are all of the laminates from the events that I've been a part of at work. I should take the lanyards off of those and bring them back to reuse them...

Please tell me I'm not the only one with too many things I can't let go of.

xoxo.

7/52 2014

Wow. It has certainly been an exhausting past few weeks. I am so excited to share this week's photos because I am so in love with most of them!!

Wednesday 12 February // day forty-three :: snowflakes on the window of my car. my white balance was "wrong" for this shot, but I love the blue tint and the bokeh. I tried to retake this with a better set white balance, but I still like the blue of this one better.

Thursday 13 February // day forty-four :: Vee likes a little coffee in the afternoon. this coffee cup is huge! I was taking a little series of photos with it. Charlie also liked to use this one for his evening coffee.

Friday 14 February // day forty-five :: thanks to Claudia, we had the Valentine's staple: conversation hearts. I am in love with the colors in this picture.

Saturday 15 February // day forty-six :: the stage is set for show number two.

Sunday 16 February // day forty-seven :: snow and icicles.

Monday 17 February // day forty-eight :: some fun clearance finds at Target. the best part was that they were on deeper clearance than I thought!

Tuesday 18 February // day forty-nine :: porch windows after yesterday's snowfall.

xoxo.
