Ten Things

Ten Things I Live For/Can't Live Without

1. my students: whether it's the kids I teach on Sundays with Children's Liturgy of the Word, my summer campers, or my tumbling class, they always bring a smile to my face

2. the musicians who have come into my life and made it better. they mean so much to me, and whenever I get to see them or spend any time with them, I am so happy. they've all taught me things, whether it's something important like standing up for myself, or something not as important like how to waltz. they amaze me, and they've made my life crazily wonderful. they aren't as bad of influences as people think.

Kim Manning & Miss Meaghan Owens - two of the best role models

melaniejane & pat mAconald {PurgAtory Hill} - my extra parents

3. social media & my iPhone - aka my connection to the outside world

4. the music that my wonderful friends create - because a silent world would be quite sad

5. taking pictures & capturing the moment - memories are easier to remember with a corresponding picture. that's my thinking at least ;)

6. Door County. the beautiful place I call home.

7. learning. whether it's college classes, learning to use my new DSLR, or learning to play the guitar (yes, I'm back at it!), I am always trying to broaden my horizons.

8. Target. sad but true. I just love to walk around and look at all of the pretty things.

9. baking. I love creating in the kitchen, especially when it's cold outside!

10. my real family. they're pretty important too. they're the reason that I'm here and that I am who I am.

xoxo.

Who I Am

hi.

I'm Teresa.

I'm a college student who will graduate in December.

I'm a teacher of Sunday school and preschool classes at the YMCA.

I'm a snap-happy aspiring photographer who sometimes lets her shyness get the best of her.

I'm a music lover who is lucky enough to call most of her favorite musicians friends.

I've got a lot of dreams, and I'm waiting to see where the world is going to lead me next.

the one in which Teresa wears a dress & gets a tattoo

I will probably regret posting some of these pictures later, since this dress does not fit well at all! But my mom thinks it's a cute dress, and she knows that this is the only time that I will probably ever wear it, so she wanted to take some pictures haha.

I bought this dress a few months back at Old Navy for ninety-seven cents on the clearance rack. The belt that I'm wearing was purchased at Target on clearance, but it's too small to wear with jeans :( And the cardigan and flats? Also on clearance at Target! haha.

When I bought this dress, I knew that it would be perfect to wear when I went to get my tattoo, since it leaves my shoulder blade fully exposed, yet I am still clothed! (:

I have been thinking about getting this tattoo for a few years, and I received a gift certificate from my dad for my birthday (in August), and I finally got around to scheduling an appointment, so I went in the afternoon of Wednesday the twenty-ninth of May to get it done! I was so nervous when I got there, but Polly was great!

suckers & tattoos! (:

it didn't hurt that bad!

before bandaging. it didn't take too long, maybe twenty minutes?

so here's what I wore (: I'm not very good at getting my picture taken!

it took some dress tape to make it feel like it wasn't going to fall off!

hahaha. bandaging. those things are also used for meat packaging?

yes, my skin is truly this pale, and I love it! I'm not a big fan of fake tanning, and my skin does not do very well in the sun. I clearly inherited that trait from my mom, not my dad who tans easily.

about an hour and a half after it was applied.

stickers & the stencil Polly used! (:

typically, someone getting a tattoo of "forever young" is a cliché, but since Young is my last name, it means something to me. this tattoo is for my blood family.

xoxo.

apple blossoms

about a week ago, my mom and I went out to one of the local orchards because she wanted to get some pictures of the cherry blossoms. we think that these are actually apple trees though (:
